Born to a M.A Gold medallist Birendra Kumar Sarkar and the beautiful Anima Sarkar on October 18th, 1947, Barin Kumar Sarkar grew up initially in the love and warm chaos of a joint family at 1A Gopal Bose Lane of Kolkata, India. As with many other joint families, this environment, at a very early age gave him opportunity to learn how to work with others through many joys, challenges, and obstacles. Without realising it he had developed a knack for team-work, people skills, and communicating over diverse barriers. Given the excellence displayed in his father’s academic career, it is not surprising to see a similar determination in Barin’s pursuit of education, knowledge and wisdom. His bright and shining academic journey, which began at B.E.S High School in Bombay, went on to flourish and bear fruit at the St. Xavier’s College in Bombay (Inter science) & M.S. University in Baroda(B.E. Chemical), from which he graduated in the the years 1966 and 1972 respectively. Eventually, it was at the XLRI, Jamshedpur, that with a focus on Working Capital Management, Barin’s pursuit finally culminated itself in a final academic triumph. |
